VISITOR ATTRACTIONS.
Visitor attractions play a vital part in the Tourism industry as in generates huge amounts of money each year, this is because domestic tourists and inbound tourists both visit the attractions. There are 4 different types of attractions:
- Natural
- Events
- Built
- Heritage
Heritage.
Heritage attractions are historical and cultural attractions and an example of one could be the Buckingham Palace. It's been around since 1837 and today is the administrative headquarters of the Monarch. Although it's in use for the many official events and receptions held by The Queen, the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace are open to visitors every year. As Britain is really the only country with a monarchy left it attracts huge amounts of visitors each year from all around the world which brings millions of pounds into the travel industry. It not only attracts inbound tourists but domestic too, people from the UK go and visit the Palace as a lot of people are patriarchal.

An example of a built attraction is Alton Towers, this is a theme park with some of the best roller-coasters in Europe. Alton towers is the UK'S leading theme park and short break resort. The origins of the towers themselves date back to the 8th century!! In order to gain as much custom as possible Alton Towers put special events on, one being School trips. A school trip to Alton Towers Resort provide pupils with the opportunity to enjoy a number of engaging educational activities including talks and demonstrations, along with a load of fun on the rides them self By offering school trips it encourages people to go to the park through the week, which is their less busy time, they also have a Halloween scare fest and group conferences and events. Alton Towers is part of the Private sector, it's privately owned and is running purely to make a profit.

There's a variety of things to do at Snowdon, including: cycling, climbing, horse riding, golfing, canyoning, bird watching, caving and water sports. The Snowdonia National Park is home to the biggest mountain in Wales and England, Mount Snowdon at 3,560ft you can visit this by foot or train. There’s also a long coastline of sandy beaches, spectacular cliffs and glorious views, which along the Llyn Peninsula is a protected ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. Snowdonia is a popular area for people to come for a short break, domestic tourists from all around UK visit here to take part in the events they put on for tourists, also inbound tourists may come here for a holiday to see sites and views they don't usually see in their own country's.

It's aim was to get people from all over the world to come to London to not only watch the sport events taking place but to make money too. All the different events attracted different types of sport enthusiasts to watch throughout the games. It meant that inbound tourists and domestic tourists had to spend money on tickets, transport, accommodation and food and drink. As it was in London people who don't necessarily like sport went to watch as it may be a once in a lifetime opportunity and also people want to be patriarchal to their country. The Olympics also make money out of selling merchandise, maybe as a memory or even to take back to their friends or family and as Up to 180,000 spectators a day entered the Park, this means that a lot of money would be spent on a daily basis.
